VfB Stuttgart: Sasa Kalajdzic to Wolverhampton? Mislintat commented

VfB sports director commented

The first version of this article was published on Monday at 4:02 p.m. and was supplemented with statements by VfB sports director Sven Mislintat.

Sasa Kalajdzic’s personality is the dominant topic at VfB Stuttgart this summer and has a major impact on the squad planning of the Swabians – regardless of whether it amounts to a change or a stay. Now the transfer of the 25-year-old center forward seems to be taking shape. According to consistent media reports, promising talks are underway with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Either “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg as well as “The Athletic” report on Monday about the negotiations between the clubs and also about a basic agreement between Kalajdzic and the Premier League club. The Austrian should be open to a move to the island, and an early agreement on the transfer fee is also close.

Update Monday, 6:47 p.m.: VfB sports director Sven Mislintat confirmed inquiries from England, including Wolverhampton, to Sky on Monday: “It is actually the case that there are the first interests from England, the Wolves are one of them. But that is not really concrete on either side at this point in time.”

Wolves ready to meet VfB Stuttgart’s demand for Sasa Kalajdzic?

Stuttgart is therefore demanding 25 million euros for Kalajdzic, and Wolverhampton is ready to pay this amount. This means that the Bundesliga club would have exactly the market value for the two-meter giant a year before the end of the contract. In the club’s history, only Benjamin Pavard (€35m) and Mario Gómez (€30m; both to FC Bayern) left the club for more money.

Kalajdzic, VfB’s top scorer for the past two seasons, went without a goal in the first three games of the season but collected three assists. The most valuable professional in the squad has been linked to a multitude of clubs this summer, with Wolves now the 14th club in the TM rumor mill.
