The top game was actually supposed to take place on Saturday afternoon in Stuttgart. But while the game in Swabia remained calm, things became spectacular elsewhere.

VfB Stuttgart missed a win in the last home game of the year. The game against TSG Hoffenheim ended in a 0-0 draw. It was much more spectacular in Wolfsburg, where VfL lost 3-4 against SC Freiburg despite being three times ahead. For 1. FC Cologne, however, there was a late double shock. First defender van den Berg saw the red card, then Union Berlin scored the winning goal in stoppage time. In Augsburg the game against Bremen ended goalless.
