VfB Stuttgart | Labbadia before the end? Sports director Wohlgemuth comments

After falling to the bottom of the table in the Bundesliga, there has recently been heated speculation at VfB Stuttgart about the future of head coach Bruno Labbadia. Sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth has now spoken out.

According to a “Sky” report, internal dissatisfaction with the Stuttgart trainer has recently increased.

The new VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth, who, like head coach Labbadia, has only been in office since December, expressed his clear opinion on the “Sky” microphone: “In such a situation, the internal relationship between coach, team and staff naturally doesn’t get any easier. That’s why we have to work on it with even more intensity.”

Basically, the 43-year-old explained that Bruno Labbadia, as a trainer for the Swabians, is still firmly in the saddle after just one win in ten Bundesliga games: “The coach is not up for debate,” said Wohlgemuth.

Rather, the VfB manager sees the responsibility of the individual players themselves and wants to deal with the recent setbacks with the necessary clarity: “You sometimes have to raise your finger and point to the team. We analyze without taking the current public outrage with us and to let one’s own emotionality work too strongly.

VfB Stuttgart next in demand at the Iron

Wohlgemuth described the 1-0 defeat against VfL Wolfsburg last weekend as a new “low point”. Since that game, Stuttgart has also been in 18th and last place in the table, but is still in full swing with only two points behind 15th TSG Hoffenheim.

“We held the mirror up to the team very clearly and said what responsibility they had and what they could do better”; added Wohlgemuth, who wants to see “more determination and more greed in the duels” from the VfB pros in the coming weeks.

After the international break, VfB Stuttgart will continue in the Bundesliga with the away game at 1. FC Union Berlin.
