VfB Stuttgart allegedly wants Gladbach star: loan with option to buy?

The Bundesliga clubs don’t have much time left until the end of the transfer period to add reinforcements to the squad. According to a media report, VfB Stuttgart is still working on getting a player away from the competition. A Gladbach star is said to have come into focus.

VfB Stuttgart wants to sign Florian Neuhaus from Borussia Mönchengladbach. This is what “Bild” reports.

The Swabians are said to have already registered their interest with their Bundesliga rivals. It is said that talks have already taken place between the two clubs.

The deal should therefore take place this winter. The changeover period ends on February 1st (6:00 p.m.). The idea: The 26-year-old should initially be loaned out until the end of the season. The Stuttgart-based company also wants to have a purchase option set in order to be able to bind Neuhaus to them.

According to the report, it is not yet clear how high the purchase option should be. This not unimportant detail has not yet been discussed in the negotiations.

Two clubs out of the race?

Florian Neuhaus has been one of the possible candidates for departure from Borussia Mönchengladbach for weeks, even though he only extended his contract on the Lower Rhine until 2027 in July 2023.

Most recently, two other clubs, Lazio Rome and Sevilla FC, are said to have expressed interest in the ten-time German national player (two international goals). However, as “Bild” reports, both clubs are out of the race. Instead, there are apparently two clubs from England still in the running: Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Florian Neuhaus moved from his training club 1860 Munich to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2017. After a season on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf, the midfielder became a top performer in Gladbach. Under coach Gerardo Seoane, Florian Neuhaus has been in the starting lineup less and less this season.
