Vesa-Matti Loir is played by a surprising name – The entertainment legend is being turned into an audio drama

Yle will publish an audio drama about Vesa-Matti Loir this summer.

For someone who has had a long career in the entertainment world Vesa-Matti from Loir let’s make an audio drama. This is clear from Yle’s press release.

The 20-part audio drama, which will be shown on Yle Areena and Yle Radio in Finland this summer, tells about Loir’s life and how he became one of Finland’s biggest stars in many different fields.

Loir’s voice in the drama is played by actor Pyry Kähkönen, who has previously appeared in the Syke hospital series, among others.

Actor Pyry Kähkönen has also been seen in the drama series Karkurit and Kultakala. Jukka Lintinen

Pertti “Spede” Pasanen is voiced by actor Iikka Forss, and a clairvoyant Only to Kassinen voiced by actress Seela Sella.

Seela Sella’s voice is also heard in Loir’s audio drama. Henri Kärkkäinen

Also included in the audio drama are Anna-Maija Tuokko and Wanda Dubiel.

The audio drama is scripted Liila Jokelin, Jussi Moila and Juhana Von Bagh. Von Bagh also serves as director of the drama.

– Loir had an incredibly eventful life with a huge amount of story material. We don’t try to draw a ready-made picture of the artist, but throw ourselves at the same questions, contradictions and choices that Vesku faced on his journey, director Juhana von Bagh says in the press release.

It appears from Yle’s press release that the audio drama was discussed for the first time already in 2019. Loir is said to have heard about Yle’s plans before his death.

Loiri died last August, exhausted by a long-term illness.

– Vesa-Matti Loiri is an artist whose story deserves to be heard by the whole nation. The audio drama is Yle’s way of honoring Loir’s versatile and wonderful career and his importance to Finns and Finland, Head of Yle Draama Jarmo Lampela states in the announcement.

Vesa-Matti Loir’s audio drama on Yle Areena on June 29, and Yle Radio in Finland on July 3.

Loir’s funeral was celebrated in September in Helsinki’s John’s Church. Jenni Gästgivar
