In the 13th week of the Trendyol Super League, Beşiktaş drew 1-1 with Samsunspor, which it hosted at home. After the match, Beşiktaş Vice President Murat Kılıç made very harsh statements about the management of referee Atilla Karaoğlan.
Stating that he did not find the referee appointment correct, Kılıç stated that Karaoğlan did not create trust in the Beşiktaş community due to past discussions. Kılıç also reacted to the fact that the black-whites’ penalty expectations were not met despite the VAR review.

“As an enemy of Beşiktaş, we do not find it right that a referee who is notorious for our match was assigned to our match.
