Horner-Aus at Red Bull: That says Max Verstappen

The rapid farewell of the long -time team boss at Red Bull is still being discussed lively. Now the four -time world champion has also said – with emotional words.

After two decades full of success, an era at Red Bull. Team boss Christian Horner leaves the Max Verstappen team – the world champion has now publicly commented on this.

“We shared incredible successes from my first racing victory to four world championships. We won memorable races and broke countless records. Thanks for everything, Christian!” Wrote Verstappen on Wednesday on Instagram.

The collaboration between Horner and Red Bull started 20 years ago and was characterized by extraordinary success. Sebastian Vettel already won four World Cup titles in a row with the racing team (2010-13). With the promotion of Verstappen to number one in the team, the racing team took over the dominance in Formula 1. Red Bull almost at will again for two years. In 2024 it was no longer enough for a constructor title, but Verstappen himself secured his fourth World Cup in a row. For some time now, the 27-year-old has been associated with a move to Mercedes.

The successor to Horner at the Austrian racing team, however, succeeds Laurent Mekies. The Frenchman has been the team leader at the Red Bull sister team Racing Bulls since the beginning of 2024, has now been promoted.
