Record numbers and renewed cultural suggestions of the 39th edition scheduled for October 26th

Venice Marathon 2025: the programme

The Family Run starts from Mestre on Friday 24 October on a 4 km route: an opportunity open to those who love running and want to share their passion for the marathon with friends and families. The 21 km and 10 km are already sold outbut we can still do it sign up for the 42 km. Fidal members in possession of a Fidal Runcard and a medical certificate for athletics issued for competitive sporting activity can participate. The delivery of the bibs will take place at Exposport Venicemarathon Village (San Giuliano Park in Mestre – Porta Blu), Friday 24th from 9am to 8pm and Saturday 25th from 9am to 8pm. The Venicemarathon route is essentially flat and fast. The unique difficulties they meet between the 25th and 35th kilometres, in the form of 3-4 short uphill stretches 100 m long or just over. The bridges are equipped with wooden ramps that allow you not to have to deal with the steps. In the last 100 m before the finish line there are cobbled sections. In the section inside the historic center of Venice the paving is made up of large rectangular stone slabs (the so-called “masegno”). The route is entirely closed to traffic and there are indicators at every kilometer of the race.

From Villa Pisani (Stra) to Riva Sette Martiri (Venice), departure is scheduled for approximately 9.40 am. Measured distance: 42.195 kilometers. The first part of the route, along the Brenta Rivierais framed by Venetian villas which reflect the Renaissance and Baroque style on the waters of the river. The marathon then passes through the center of Marghera and Mestrepassing through the brand new M9 multimedia museum of the twentieth century. Continue for over 2 km inside the San Giuliano Parkwhere the 10k starts, and you can reach Venice via the Liberty Bridge. You run in the port area up to the historic center. Here is the gem of the marathon: the athletes run alongside the Giudecca Canal to Punta della Doganawhere they cross the Grand Canal on a floating bridge, built specifically for the race. Finally, we cross St. Mark’s Square to the finish line located in Riva Sette Martiri.
