A video made with artificial intelligence made José Luis Espert go viral, but not because of a new political project, but because of a parody that shows him with a blonde wig, speaking in inclusive language and introducing himself as “Josefina Luisa Sorora.” In the clip, the fictional version of the libertarian deputy says: “I am going to head the list of deputies in the province of Buenos Aires to resolve the conflict that everyone already knows. I am going to fight for the values of freedom and reaffirm my commitment to end drug trafficking, insecurity and achieve gender equality for all.”
The “conflict” alludes to the scandal that left him off the La Libertad Avanza ballot: his link with Federico “Fred” Machado, a businessman arrested for drug trafficking and money laundering. Machado financed Espert’s campaign in 2019 with private flights and a payment of $200,000 for an alleged “consulting” in 2020, linked to a Guatemalan mining company under investigation. The case, uncovered in September 2025, forced his resignation from the candidacy for deputy on October 5, after complaints promoted by Juan Grabois. The AI turns that fall into comedy, exaggerating the paradox of an “inclusive” Espert that seeks to reinvent itself.
The contrast between the character’s progressive speech and the real figure of Espert – a conservative economist and staunch opponent of inclusive language – triggered laughter from thousands of users. The parody, which circulates on networks, plays with the idea of an Espert trying to return to the ring in a “woke” key after being left out of the libertarian contest and the internal rearrangement of La Libertad Avanza.
Beyond the joke, the video shows how artificial intelligence became a tool of political humor: it amplifies contradictions, mixes styles and turns the protagonists into digital caricatures. In this case, the image of Espert with a wig marks the distance between his speech and reality.
