Teemu Huuhtanen surprised his wife, the presenter May Day Darkness Sunday live Dancing with the stars – broadcast. Huuhtanen had previously recorded Pimiä’s speech, which was broadcast. Huuhtanen was also on site at the studio with the couple’s two children.
After the broadcast, Huuhtanen told Iltalehti how he reacted when Pimiä announced that he was going to quit as a presenter of TTK.
– Yes, honestly, at the beginning I was a bit of the same position as Erku [Ernest Lawson]that no, no, no, because it had become a big part of our lives too, Huuhtanen says.
Pimiä’s co-host Ernest Lawson said in the video summary seen on the broadcast that he strongly opposed Pimiä’s decision to leave the program.
– But then I understood quite quickly that he had very reasonable and valid reasons to quit now, Huuhtanen says.
– A time for each.
Huuhtanen says Pimiä has always been a determined person.
– I can’t say I’m surprised. I knew that he has certain other dreams that he is going towards now. Towards new goals.

The broadcast showed that the studio audience and the jury stood up and gave a round of applause in honor of Pimiä.
– Vappu is so genuine. You always get the same Vapu and the same energy. Maybe it will show through. Honest work, Huuhtanen assesses the reason for Pimiä’s success.
Pimiä announced in August that he would leave TTK after this autumn’s season. He told MTV that he made the decision a couple of years ago. He described that in a presenter’s job, you can’t “get carried away”, because it is visible both to yourself and to the viewers.
– I want to leave before it happens. I’m still having a lot of fun, but this is also a pretty heavy squeeze in terms of time. This practically takes the entire autumn season out of my life and the weekends out of my family’s life. I still want to do other things, Pimiä described to MTV at the time.
