Michael van Gerwen has won the Players Championship 7 in the German city of Hildesheim. With that he has won the first tournament victory of 2023 in this series. The 33-year-old darts player from Vlijmen defeated Northern Irishman Josh Rock 8-4 in the final.
Van Gerwen settled in Hildesheim in the quarterfinals with Dirk van Duijvenbode. The darts player from the Westland had beaten him in the quarter-finals in Barnsley a week earlier and then won his second tournament this year.
Van Gerwen now triumphed 6-4 and then also dealt with the Englishman Bradley Brooks (7-5).
There are thirty Players Championships throughout the year. Van Duijvenbode has already won two, Danny Noppert was also the best once.
