Paris (AP) – Paris Saint-Germain is worried about the use of star striker Kylian Mbappé in the Champions League second leg on Wednesday at Real Madrid.

As the club announced, the soccer world champion received a hit on the left foot in training. Initial investigations had not confirmed an initially feared break, several media had previously reported. However, its use is uncertain. According to the club, Mbappé should undergo another medical check this Tuesday.

PSG had won the round of 16 first leg 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mbappé in the fourth minute of added time. Should the 23-year-old fail for the second leg on Wednesday (9:00 p.m.), it would be a heavy blow for the top French team. Mbappé has scored 24 goals and provided 17 assists in all competitions this season. The French international’s contract expires at the end of this season and Real Madrid are under discussion as a possible new employer.
