Leicester extend deal with Fofana – comeback after seven-month break nears

Injured since summer

Leicester City have extended Wesley Fofana’s contract at a very early stage. When he moved from St.-Étienne to the “Foxes” in October 2020, the 21-year-old central defender had already signed a long-term working paper until 2025, which has now even been extended to 2027.

Meanwhile, Fofana wasn’t even on the ball for Leicester in 2021/22. The Frenchman with Ivorian roots broke his fibula before the current season and has been out since. However, he impressed in his debut season and apart from a lengthy injury layoff he was a regular in the East Midlands. Fofana could be expected again in the upcoming Conference League game on Thursday at Stade Rennes.
