The public prosecutor explained that the Dutch were used as extractors by a drug gang. They were brought to Zeebrugge by Redouan E. (39) from Aartselaar, but he claimed that he was forced to do so. The Public Prosecution Service demanded an effective prison sentence of five years for all defendants. The defense insisted on the acquittal or asked for the criminal proceedings to be declared inadmissible.
The court sentenced Elghen W. to four years of effective imprisonment. Jude B., Jady M. and Selim Y. were sentenced to forty months in prison. Redouan E. was sentenced to thirty months in prison. Finally, Christopher M. was acquitted.
