A car fire in the Witte Dame parking garage in the center of Eindhoven released a lot of smoke. The parking garage has been cleared.
The car that was on fire was on the -2 floor. The parking garage quickly filled with smoke. It was so thick that the fire brigade had difficulty locating the burning car. This one has been extinguished.
Thick black smoke came from ventilation holes in the middle of the center. The garage has been cleared, people are waiting outside to get to their cars again, but there is still too much smoke in the garage for that. It is not known how long this will last, but it could possibly take several hours. It is also unknown what the damage is to other cars.
The police are present with many officers to keep people at a distance. All entrances and exits to the parking garage are also monitored so that no one can enter.
