Up to 20,000 euros out of salary – This is how the collapse of the Swedish krona hits the wallets of Finns

The value of the Swedish krona is currently at a record low.

Until the end of 2021, one euro gave you ten crowns, while at the moment it is almost 12 crowns.

Several Finns are playing in the Swedish premier league SHL this season as well. Last year, the Finnish representation in the main league of the neighboring country was also large and the Finnish players enjoyed quite a pleasant salary.

For example, who played in Leksand last season Mikael Ruohomaa, 34, was the salary king of Finnish players. The annual salary of Ruohomaa from Alastaro was 250,000 euros last season, or even more than the Swedish Expressen’s according to the report. It made about SEK 2.6 million.

In a month, it was 220,000 kroner, according to Expressen’s data.

At the current exchange rate, the corresponding figure would be 227,135 euros. Ruohomaa moved to the ranks of MoDo for the coming season and there is no information about the salary of his new contract.

The next salary category included, among others, the goalkeeper Joni Ortio and forwards Hannes Björninen and Jere Innala. Their annual salary last season was 200,000–250,000 euros.

At the current exchange rate, their annual salary would be 181,700–227,135 euros.

Ortio, 32, blocked pucks in HV71’s shirt last season. Björninen, 27, represented Brynäs, which was relegated from the SHL last season, and will play in Örebro next season. Innala, 25, cooled down in Frölunda’s ranks and will represent the same club next season as well.

Luleå’s star striker Juhani Tyrväinen32, the annual salary was 150,000–200,000 euros last year.

Currently, at the current exchange rate, Tyrväinen’s annual salary would be a good 136,000–181,700 euros. Tyrräinen’s contract with Luleå ends in the coming season.

Having defended Växjö to the SHL championship Emil Larmin26, last season’s annual salary was 100,000–150,000 euros.

At the current exchange rate, it would be around 91,173–181,700 euros.
