Undav future at VfB Stuttgart remains “completely open”

Due to a muscle injury, Deniz Undav was unable to play for his VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga last Saturday and had to watch the meager 1-1 draw against Kellerkind 1. FC Köln from the stands. Despite his absence, the loan striker is and remains the topic of conversation around the Neckar.

What will happen after the end of the season for the goalscorer, who was loaned out from Brighton & Hove Albion from the English Premier League for one season last year, is still completely open, according to “Bild” information.

Undav himself recently confirmed on the “Sky” microphone that he was only too happy to stay at VfB Stuttgart: “Absolutely. I feel very comfortable here. We want to play in Europe, that’s the goal.”

Whether the Swabians can actually afford the starter of the current Bundesliga season is still an open question. According to “Bild” information, if VfB actually wants to sign the 27-year-old in the summer, the transfer fee could rise to a total of around 20 million euros.

Undav has scored 14 times in the Bundesliga for VfB Stuttgart

This transfer fee plus the undav side’s requested salary increase could, as a whole, be a lot too big for Stuttgart, who are well in the running to qualify for the Champions League.

The offensive man himself is now pushing for his return to the VfB squad. The day after the draw against 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga, Undav completed the training ground on Sunday.

The plan is for top scorer Serhou Guirassy’s strike partner to return to team training next Tuesday so that he can be actively involved again next Saturday evening in the away game in Wolfsburg (from 6:30 p.m.).

To date, Undav has 14 goals in 19 games in his first Bundesliga season.
