After an intensive game against Würzburg Baskets, Ratiopharm Ulm has to come into the fifth game for moving into the final of the German Championship.
In a dramatic playoff thriller, Ratiopharm Ulm had to give up with 77:78 at the Würzburg Baskets. The Ulm missed the series to win the series early. The final in the final is now decided on Thursday (8 p.m. / Live at SWR Sport) in the local arena.
Ulm loses chase despite strong catch -up
The game against Würzburg offered everything that makes a real playoff duel: intensity, change of leadership and an emotional final phase. The Ulmer hunt was particularly impressive, who fought back into the game after a double -digit deficit in the third quarter. In the end, however, a difficult litter of Würzburg’s Davion Mintz decided a few seconds before the end – bitter for the Ulm.
For Karim Jallow, the game against Würzburg could have overturned in both directions: “But, it is always a different game outside and we have allowed many simple points in the first half.” These first throws of the Würzburger “hurt” the Ulmen.
Despite the defeat, coach Ty Harrelson was combative: “I think it was a great basketball game today. In the end, it is bitter that we couldn’t reward ourselves for the forty -minute fight with great chase.”
However, Harrelson is optimistic about the game on Thursday: “If we reduce our gymnasium and screw our hit rate upwards, we can take the crucial step in the home fortress on Thursday.”
