The Ukrainians who stay in the former care farm Het Kleurpalet in Nieuw-Buinen can live there longer. The municipality of Borger-Odoorn is preparing for this.
Initially, the end date of the shelter was December 1, 2022, which will now be July 15, 2023.
The Municipality of Borger-Odoorn considers it important that there is a safe shelter for Ukrainians in these uncertain times, says alderman Bernard Jansen. “Unfortunately, there is still no prospect of an end to the war in Ukraine. We therefore expect that care for Ukrainians will continue to be needed for longer.”
The residents of Het Kleurpalet have been informed by the municipality of the extension of the shelter.
