Delivery will start immediately, the German Defense Ministry announced on Monday. It concerns the armored howitzer 2000, a heavy artillery gun with a range of up to 40 kilometers.
The German government stressed that Kiev had asked for more howitzers. “The 2000 armored howitzers supplied by Germany and the Netherlands have more than proven themselves in combat,” said German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht.
With the four new howitzers, the number that Germany delivered to Ukraine rises to fourteen.
