Notable UFC win streaks

Jon Jones with a winning streak of 18 is currently still active and last won against Ciryl Gane with a guillotine choke in the first round with a time of 2 minutes 4 seconds.

Furthermore, Islam Makhachev and Leon Edwards also have an active winning streak. Leon Edwards dethroned titleholder Kamaru Usman with a knockout that shocked everyone.

Anderson Silva retired in 2012, Khabib Nurmagomedov retired 3 years ago in 2020 after beating Justin Gaethje and Georges St. Pierre retired after 10 years because he felt the championship brought great stress.
Royce Gracie’s first long winning streak has stopped due to a draw against Ken Shamrock. To recap: Shamrock takes Gracie to the ground and lays on him for 36 minutes, the match is declared a draw, and that’s it!

Both Alexander Volkanovski and Charles Oliveira have both lost to Islam Makhachev. Volkanovski lost by decision (in the second fight he was knocked out in the first round) and Oliveira was caught with a triangle grip in the second round, making Makhachev the new lightweight champion.

Max Holloway and Demetrious Johnson both lost on a 13-win win streak.

Poirier defeated Holloway in a fight that will be remembered for a long time. Holloway had remarkable resilience, but was kicked with a knee in the 4th round and suffered a huge gash on his forehead. Poirier won in the fifth round by unanimous decision with a score of 49-46.

Demetrious Johnson lost to Henry Cejudo with a very special decision to snatch the flyweight belt, namely: a split decision of 48-47, 47-48, 48-47, bizarre, right?

Amanda Nunes lost to Julianna Pena by taking her to the mat and choking her 3:26 into the round for a stunning defeat.

To top it all off, the fight between Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson was also a memorable one. In the fifth round three or four straight punches to the head staggered Ferguson, we don’t know what the record is for the most facial cuts but Ferguson comes pretty close. After many big blows, the referee decided to end it and Ferguson lost.
