The UEFA has sanctioned several players from Real for their behavior in the Champions League game against Atlético. The penalties imposed are different.

Antonio Rüdiger will remain Real Madrid in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against Arsenal FC on April 8-despite a lock. The German international was punished by the UEFA “due to violation of the basic rules of good behavior”. However, he only has to start his lock pronounced for a game if there is another incident within one year. In addition, a fine of 40,000 euros was imposed against Rüdiger.

In the second leg against city rival Atlético Madrid, the 32-year-old had been carried away after the penalty shoot-out in the zeal of the battle to make the right thumb with his right thumb.

Two of Rüdiger’s teammates were also sanctioned due to misconduct. Like Rüdiger, France’s striker Kylian Mbappé collected a lock from a game on probation (one year) and a 30,000 euro money penalty. Midfielder Daniel Cemballos got away more brilliantly: the Spaniard only has to pay a fine of 20,000 euros. Without any sanction, however, Vinícius Junior remained – although his behavior was also the subject of discussions after the final whistle.

Atlético and the fans of the host club had felt and insulted by the cheering scenes of real professionals. According to its own statement, the European Football Union UEFA had appointed an ethics and disciplinary inspector to examine the behavior.
