Great start, then unfortunately plain home cooking. Somehow you get the impression that Flick’s assistant coach at the N11 was a master back then: passes around the penalty area without moving to the goal and without changing tempo. A few players also stood out positively. Although Ley was very lively, like al-Khalaf, Langsteiner and Is, he was physically weak – sometimes just a breath of air from a Colombian was enough. Staff at least with a few good scenes and a lot of effort. Both full-backs were strong against the man, but with some catastrophic positional play. The only one who stood out positively was Mussa Kaba, who organized the midfield as confidently as a 25-year-old (but always seemed a bit lethargic). And I honestly can’t remember when any German junior national team had a starting goalkeeper as bad as Marcello Trippel (but that doesn’t just refer to this World Cup game).
It should – and must! – get better, otherwise it will be over in the 8th final…
I didn’t see anything and therefore can’t say anything about it, but if you say it yourself it wasn’t because of the game. Trippel is considered the greatest talent in his age group in the position.
In Germany or Europe?
When it comes to Germany, I hope he is the best talent, otherwise he wouldn’t be the starting goalkeeper.
