Two transfers from the table: Kehl invites Terzic to transfer meetings

BVB has signed two newcomers in Ramy Bensebaini and Felix Nmecha, but the problem areas in the squad have probably not yet been solved. In order to advance squad planning at Borussia Dortmund, a meeting has now taken place between management and the coaching staff. But one thing is clear: the search for new players is difficult.

According to the “Ruhr Nachrichten”, head coach Edin Terzic, assistant Armin Reutershahn and sporting director Sebastian Kehl discussed BVB’s transfer plans in detail on Thursday afternoon. The meeting was part of the regular contact between management and the coaching staff.

Terzic and Reutershahn arrived at the office just before 2 p.m. and only left the building shortly after 5 p.m. – according to the regional newspaper, an indication that there was a lot to talk about.

While numerous players have been associated with a move to the German runners-up in recent weeks, a third summer transfer is currently not in the offing. According to the report, the traces of the former transfer targets Edson Álvarez from Ajax Amsterdam and Iván Fresneda from Real Valladolid are now cold.

BVB can’t get rid of prank candidates

According to “Ruhr Nachrichten”, both changes are off the table, replacement candidates are not in sight either in the defensive midfield position or on the right side of defence.

The transfer standstill is probably mainly due to the fact that Sebastian Kehl has not yet managed to get one of the numerous sales candidates to the man. Thomas Meunier, Nico Schulz and Thorgan Hazard do not play a role in Edin Terzic’s plans and should be monetized as soon as possible.

Around the start of training for BVB, a change from youngster Soumaila Coulibaly, which would have given the Revierklub a considerable sum of millions in the medium term, also failed. The young Frenchman was already in England and had even passed the medical check at Burnley FC.

Ultimately, however, the loan deal fell through because of the purchase obligation demanded by BVB, which is said to have been 15 million euros. The 18-year-old was back on the training ground in Dortmund on Friday.
