Two Swiss campers found dead in Corsica: “Probably struck by lightning” | Abroad

It was coast guards who discovered the pair in Vico, about twenty kilometers north of Ajaccio. “According to initial findings, the campers were struck by lightning,” said Nicolas Septe, Ajaccio’s public prosecutor, who opened an investigation. An autopsy will follow today.

Given the weather conditions – with code yellow for storms, rain and high waves on the French island – caution is called for during outdoor activities.
