Two suspects in stabbing at disco in Lemele longer in custody, 16-year-old at large

Two of the three young men, who were arrested for the stabbing at a disco in Lemele, have been released again. One of them remains stuck. His pre-trial detention was extended by fourteen days. Two disco-goers were seriously injured in the stabbing last weekend. RTV Oost reports this.

The teenagers are suspected of involvement in the stabbing near the disco. After the stabbing incident, they were picked off the road with their BMW near Ommen. These are three young men aged 16, 18 and 19 from Coevorden and Emmen.

One of them also allegedly threatened with a gun. After the firearm was knocked out of his hands, he allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed two Westerhaar residents aged 18 and 19. One of the victims was hit in the lung. His buddy was stabbed in the abdomen, perforating his intestine and hitting a kidney. The Westerhaar victim barely survived the attack.

The victims were part of a group of friends from Westerhaar who had gone out for a night at the disco. At one point they got into an argument because one of the women from the group of friends was being harassed by other disco-goers. When she announced that she was not happy with that, emotions ran high.

One of the suspects is linked to a post on social media in which he is said to be seen in a selfie with a gun. This is possibly the firearm that would also have been used in the stabbing incident at the disco.

It is being investigated, among other things, whether the argument about the woman and the later stabbing are related. Restrictions have been imposed on all three suspects, which means that their lawyers are not allowed to make any statements.
