While other top 10 players (Alexander Zverev, Holger Rune, Lorenzo Musetti) had to delete the sail early on at the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon, or others (Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz) had to torture themselves over five sets, someone else sweeps up through the lawn classic: Novak Djokovic.
The Serb, on the incredible hunt for Grand Slam record victory number 25, also had little effort in the second round on Thursday with his opponent Daniel Evans. After just 1:47 hours, the Serbs’ perspective said 6: 3, 6: 2 and 6: 0. Only in the first sentence could the Brit to keep against it, afterwards it was the big Djokovic show.
Djokovic now against compatriot
This show finally led to the 99th victory of the 38-year-old at the tournament in Wimbledon. For the 19th time, Djokovic is in the third round of the tournament – no player has previously succeeded in the long history of the classic lawn. “It just means that I’ve been playing for a long time”he said after the game in the interview with a smile.
And of course it shouldn’t be over there. So far, the Serb has saved strength, in the third round its compatriot is now waiting
Miomir Kecmanovic. It would be very surprising if victory number 100 in Wimbledon would not follow. Maybe then pretty effortless again.
