The province took over the protected nature reserve from the Compagnie het Zoute. After a major change with more room for nature, the Zwin Nature Park opened ten years ago: “This is a unique tidal area in Belgium where very special salt-tolerant plants live. It is a buffet for birds. We have already identified more than 300 different species, which is why this park is so beautiful and interesting,” says director Ina De Wasch
