Two German acts are safe

On Saturday morning (October 7th), the Islamist terrorist militia Hamas attacked the trance festival “Universo Parallelo” near a kibbutz on the border with the Gaza Strip, killing at least 260 people and injuring or abducting numerous others. Among the around 30 DJs and artists in the line-up were the two German acts: Ectogasmics and Protonica.

Piet Kaempfer from the Berlin DJ duo Protonica was only scheduled to appear at the festival on Saturday afternoon. He was therefore not yet on the festival grounds when Hamas attacked at dawn. As can be seen from an Instagram post by the artist, he was still in Tel Aviv at the time of the bomb detonations and machine gun shots – and is now back in Berlin. The second Protonica member Ralf Dietze was apparently not scheduled for the appearance.

“I was so lucky that I didn’t go there and returned home safely (I was supposed to play there in the afternoon, so I stayed in Tel Aviv. The massacre happened in the morning at sunrise). My thoughts are with all participants and their families and friends.”

The DJ duo Ectogasmics from Berlin and Örebro (Sweden) were also represented in the line-up. Their set took place between 2:30 and 4:30 on Saturday morning (local time). Like us their label Pavarti Records announced, Stefan Andersson and Jochen Lemper got home safely. It is still unclear whether they were still on the festival grounds during the attack.
