The best tennis players in the world duel at the ATP Finals. But sport took a back seat on Monday. Two men died.

The tournament for the best eight tennis players of the year is overshadowed by tragic incidents: two people died on Monday on the sidelines of the ATP Finals in Turin.

As the “Gazzetta dello Sport” reported, among others, there were two men aged 70 and 78. The 70-year-old collapsed in the fan area in front of the hall. The second incident occurred during the game between Taylor Fritz and Lorenzo Musetti: The 78-year-old spectator collapsed in the stands.

In both cases, any help came too late – despite rescue measures that were quickly initiated, the men’s lives could not be saved. There was initially no official communication from the ATP about the incidents.
