They must watch for eight to twelve months, the disciplinary committee of the TFF association has decided. Three others are still under investigation.
On Monday, the Football Association reported that 152 Turkish referees had placed bets on matches. Seven of them are top referees and fifteen others are top-level assistant referees.
A referee would have bet on as many as 18,227 matches
Data received by the association shows that 371 of the 571 referees active in professional leagues have betting accounts. One referee is said to have bet on 18,227 matches.
