Kicking off the second week of Dreamleague Season 18, Tundra Esports crushed Major winners OG 2-0. With the win, Tundra moved up to the top of the table.
“We’re just a bunch of nerds,” Tundra midlaner Leon “Nine” Kirilin replied in an interview when asked why his team often adapts to game updates so quickly. “My teammates talk about Dota all the time. We can’t go a single day without talking about Dota.”
Dota Pro Circuit: Fast Adaptation to New Update
The adaptation to the new 7.31B update seems to have worked so well that the winner of the Stockholm Major was easily overcome. OG lasted just 17 minutes in the second game before retiring – a record this season.
“After a new update comes out, we all play a lot of matchmaking first to try out new strategies. Then we filter out any bad ideas by playing practice matches against other teams,” Nine said of his team’s methodology.
Gaimin Gladiators suffered their second loss against Team Liquid. Finishing third at the Major, behind OG and Tundra, Gladiators weren’t the top pick, but still fall short of expectations.
