Hannover-Burgdorf secures its playmaker

He is one of the defining forces of TSV: Marian Michalczik will stay with the Hanover handball players for a longer period of time.
Marian Michalczik has extended his contract with TSV Hannover-Burgdorf early. As the warriors announced on Tuesday morning, the new agreement runs until 2029. The original contract ran until 2027.
Michalczik once came to Hanover from the Füchse Berlin. In four years, the 29-year-old played 123 Bundesliga games for TSV. He scored 192 goals and set up 521 goals directly. He has 109 assists this season. This puts him in third place in the assist statistics of the Handball Bundesliga.
Sven-Sören Christophersen, TSV’s sporting director, paid tribute to the 35-time national player: “His versatility, experience and game intelligence make him a decisive factor on both sides of the field.” He added: “As a strategic head, he takes responsibility, structures our game and gives the team orientation.”
Michalczik said it gives him great pleasure to continue wearing the jersey of the Knights. And added: “It is clear to me that our journey together is far from over and that we still want to achieve a lot as a team.”
