An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 on the Richter scale has occurred off the Philippine coast. This could cause a “life-threatening” tsunami, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology warns. People in three coastal provinces on the Philippine island of Mindanao are being asked to stay away from the coast and move to higher ground.
