After his loan in the second half of 2024/25, Tim Drexler will also spend the rest of the 2025/26 season at the 1st FC Nürnberg. The club confirmed on Sunday that the 20 -year -old central defender again borrowed from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – a purchase option is not part of the agreement. In the Kraichgau, the U20 international is still under contract until 2028.
“Although Tim was only with us for a good half a year, he left an impression both in terms of sport and human and fit perfectly with us in the team,” says Nuremberg’s sports director Joti Chatzialexiou. “”We are very happy that he has chosen us again and that we can benefit from his experience and flexibility in central defense again. ”
Switched from TSG to FCN for the first time at the beginning of January, Drexler quickly conquered a regular place under coach Miroslav Klose. In the end he stood on the field for the Franks in 14 second division games, scored a goal and a template. Now he said: “I felt like at home in the past second half of the season. That’s why I’m very happy about being back at the club. I am looking forward to the fans in the Max Morlock Stadium and the boys in the cabin.”
Managing Director Andreas Schicker emphasized on the TSG page: “The renewed loan to Nuremberg is a good opportunity for Tim to continue to get playing time at a high level. After the preparation, together with him, we decided again for 1. FC Nürnberg as a loan partner. This combination was already positive for both sides in the pre-season.”
In Nuremberg, Drexler is already the 16th external access this season, but 2.5 million euros flowed. Luka Lochoshvili (27), Tarek Buchmann (20) and Kristian Mandic (17) primarily planned for the regional league are central defenders. At the same time, 15 players went around the recently transferred Caspar Jander (22, Southampton) for 17.4 million euros. All FCN transfers at a glance.
