TSG 1899 Hoffenheim loses test against Strasbourg

A goal by Kevin Vogt was not enough for Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to win in the friendly against Racing Straßburg.

At 1: 2 (0: 1) Lebo Mothiba put the French first division in the lead (7th minute). After 61 minutes, Vogt converted a penalty kick inflicted on Bambasé Conté. But at the end of regular time, Tom Saettel scored the winning goal for Strasbourg.

Even before the break, TSG coach Pellegrino Matarazzo’s team had a few good chances to score. Robert Skov (22′) hit the bar with a free kick, a goal by Grischa Prömel (42′) was ruled offside.

After the change of sides, Matarazzo eagerly made a substitution, only goalkeeper Oliver Baumann was allowed to play for more than half time. He was only substituted after Vogt’s goal. In added time, Muhammed Damar missed the equalizer with another goal from aluminum.

TSG is preparing for the new season in Austria until July 22nd. The first competitive game is scheduled for August 14th. Then in the first round of the DFB Cup it’s off to third-division promoted VfB Lübeck.
