It seems Ronaldo has left a good impression on Trump. After the meeting, the American president shared an AI video on Truth Social in which the two played football together. “Ronaldo is a great guy,” Trump writes in the caption. “I loved meeting him at the White House. Really smart and cool!”

The 40-year-old Ronaldo has a contract with Al-Nassr until 2027. That football club is largely owned by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo is charmed by Bin Salman, the de facto leader of the kingdom who, according to a US intelligence report, is responsible for the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018. In media appearances, Ronaldo calls Bin Salman “the boss”.
