The ongoing ski jumping season continues with the World Cup in Willingen at the weekend. In the person of Kamil Stoch, however, a triple four -hill tour winner will be missing.
As the Polish Association Ski Association PZN officially announced on Sunday at the short message service X, Kamil Stoch is missing in the contingent for the upcoming competitions in Willingen.
Dawid Kubacki moves into the Polish team for the 37-year-old. The two-time world champion had mostly lacked in Oberstdorf, previously the 34-year-old had been in the squad in mid-January at home in Zakopane.
Pawel Wasek, Aleksander Zniszczol, Jakub Wolny and Piotr Zyla complete the team of head coach Thomas Thurnbichler for the upcoming tasks in Willingen.
Disappointing ski flying for Kamil Stoch
Stoch has had a used weekend in ski flying from Oberstdorf. The two -time overall World Cup winner missed the second round on Saturday as 32nd. After the qualification, the end of the day was early after the qualification.
In contrast, it went better in Oberstdorf for Stoch’s teammate Pawel Waew. After the 35th place on Saturday, the 25-year-old increased significantly and just barely missed the podium on Sunday.
Ski jumping: World Cup makes a station in Willingen
The World Cup will continue in Wellingen this coming weekend. On Friday (from 4:10 p.m. in the live ticker at Sport.de), a mixed competition is initially on the program on the Mühlenkopfschanze. On Saturday (from 4 p.m. in the live ticker) and Sunday (from 4:10 p.m. in the live ticker) there are still two individual competitions.
The best Polish ski jumper in the overall World Cup is currently in the 13th position. This is followed by Zniszczol (22nd), Wolny (32nd), Stoch (35.), Kubacki (36.) and Zyla (38.).
At the top, four -hille touring winner Daniel Tschofenig from Austria continues to rank.
