Third victory in the third championship mixed relay in triathlon: TV Buschhütten also won gold at the 2023 finals.
The Ejot Team TV Buschhütten made the triathlon hat-trick perfect. At the 2023 finals, the quartet from North Rhine-Westphalia swam, rode and ran on Friday (July 7th, 2023) to win gold in the mixed relay.
Silver to Witten, bronze to Berlin
Jonas Schomburg, Tanja Neubert, Johannes Vogel and last starter Lisa Terscht needed a total of 1:18.06 hours. The Buschhütten team was 1:36 minutes faster than the Triathlon One Witten team and 1:56 minutes faster than the Berlin team.
“Great format for the viewers”
The Buschhütten team had already won the mixed relay in 2021 and 2022 and started as the favourites. “It’s a certain pressure you have there”Vogel said about the favorite role in the sports show. “But I’m pretty happy that it worked out that way. It’s motivating when you have such a good team at the start.” Schomburg praised the format of the race, which was significantly shorter than the Olympic distance: “I think it’s a great format for the spectators. It’s pretty exciting and crisp and the athletes had a lot of fun too.”
