National striker leaves England
Now things can move quickly: filling jug deal probably before completion

Niclas Füllkrug wants to leave West Ham United. And it looks like it could be perfect before Christmas.
Breakthrough when changing the filling jug? As the TV channel Sky reports, West Ham United and AC Milan have agreed on a loan deal until the end of the season. The “Bild” confirms the report. Accordingly, Milan will cover the national striker’s full salary. There is no rental fee for this.
What is still pending is the medical check. According to Sky, Füllkrug should complete this before Christmas. Due to the international striker’s many injuries, this isn’t a sure-fire success, but the 32-year-old was back on the pitch after tearing his muscle in November. Recently he no longer played a role at West Ham United.
Füllkrug’s agent Thorsten Wirth had already confirmed his player’s wish to change a month and a half ago. “Looking back, you have to say that the transfer didn’t work. We don’t have to sugarcoat anything,” said the managing director of the consulting agency ROOF in the “TOMorrow Business Podcast” and added: “I think it can make sense to change something.”
Füllkrug moved from BVB to West Ham United in the summer of 2024 for around 27 million euros plus bonus payments. But the transfer didn’t work out. He was hardly able to demonstrate his qualities at the crisis club from East London. Changes in coaching and injuries repeatedly slowed down the goalscorer. In 29 games he only scored three goals and prepared two more.
Now comes the move to Italy, where Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri can really use a classic center forward in the fight for the championship. Because Christian Pulisic, a winger, is currently the best goalscorer for the “Rossoneri”, the red-blacks. And for Niclas Füllkrug, the move is the last chance to get into the World Cup squad. Most recently, national coach Julian Nagelsmann did without him.
