To extend his contract, the number 10 wants to be the highest paid player in the squad and fight to win
Kenan Yildiz’s story at Juventus began due to a transfer blunder. In the summer of 2022, Bayern Munich decided to make the move to bring Manuel Pisano to Germany. Forward from 2006, already in the Italian youth national team of that period: a promise. The former sporting director of the Bavarians, Brazzo Salihamidzic, had just concluded the De Ligt operation and – prompted in those days by former teammate Simone Pepe, now an agent – had found himself on the trail of the first striker whose contract with Juve was expiring. In the unwritten rules of football, especially between top clubs, the Germans had disrespected Juve, who soon reacted by finding a similar situation on the opposite front. Matteo Tognozzi, the club’s head of scouting at that time, brought the candidacy of a young player from 2005 to the launch pad who was under contract with Adidas from the age of 9.
present and future
—
Pisano is now a member of Como, his last appearances were in Primavera 2 and he is aiming to rise by looking for support in Serie C in January. While Yildiz, who made it to the third series for a few months thanks to Next Gen until a couple of years ago, today is the precious jewel that Juve keeps in the first team. The present and the future, even if discussions of perspective are frozen at the moment. In the list of priorities of the new sporting director Marco Ottolini, the situation of number 10 will be at the top immediately. The former Genoa player knows Kenan very well, having been part of the working group that brought him to Turin. Now, however, we need to hold him back and for this reason it will take an extra effort to convince him: it is not just an economic question. Yildiz and Juve have always found a point of common vision: there have never been any rudeness between them and – according to what they promised each other even in the latest matches – there shouldn’t be any. But watch out for the unexpected. Idol The Turk needs clarity on what Juve will be, first of all. This is why negotiations on the renewal have been at a standstill for a few weeks, postponing any developments until the spring. A year and a half ago Kenan agreed to sign a bridge contract of just one million and 700 thousand euros (he is the nineteenth of the squad) to realize his dream of wearing the number 10 shirt, the one that belonged to his idol Alessandro Del Piero. The negotiation now stands on different parameters which refer to the new maximum cap set by the club with the latest agreement with David, who receives 6 million per season. Yildiz is the star of the new Juve and would like to be treated as such: the club recognizes his value and has already put a proposal on the table for him between 4 and 5 million, providing for a variable part linked to personal and team objectives. It’s about.
loyal relationship
—
The difference between supply and demand for renewal is approximately one million. But the real obstacle regarding the extension is another and is decidedly more complex to overcome. Yildiz asked for guarantees on the project, i.e. on the Juve of the future. The number 10 wants to be the Del Piero of the golden times, within a competitive context and capable of winning trophies: in Italy and in Europe. The last discussions between the parties took place when Juve decided to sack Tudor, because he was experiencing a negative trend in terms of results and was far from everything: even from the certainty of participating in the next Champions League. With the loyalty that has always characterized the relationship, 10 and the club have decided to give themselves time to reflect, despite having a contract that is far from expiring (2029). Spalletti’s arrival improved both the ranking and perception.
iron pact
—
The club’s idea is to secure the player with a top salary, extending the deadline by at least a year to soften the weight of the new contract on the budget. Yildiz is doing well in Turin and is increasingly close to the growth he had hoped for by choosing Juve, but in this period of stalemate the risk of a ferocious insertion by another top club must be feared: Real Madrid, where he would find a dear friend like Huijsen (they went through the Primavera, Next Gen and first team career together at Juve), and all the English teams (Chelsea above all), who are monitoring him carefully. Everyone is ready for a new transfer shock if necessary, even if Yildiz and Juve intend to respect their iron pact. The contract renewal will be discussed again by the end of the season, around the Turk’s birthday: on May 4th he will celebrate his 21st birthday, at which point he will no longer be a promising young player.
