Transfer hat-trick: Hansa bring in van Drongelen, Lucoqui and Lee

Shortly before the changeover deadline

Hansa Rostock secured three reinforcements from the Bundesliga immediately before the end of the transfer. As the North Germans announced, Rick van Drongelen (23) from Union Berlin, Anderson Lucoqui (25) from Mainz 05 and Dong-gyeong Lee (24) from Schalke 04 will switch to the “Kogge” by the end of the season. This increases the number of newcomers at Hansa to 13.

It is van Drongelen’s second loan in a row, having played for KV Mechelen in Belgium in the second half of last season. He came to Union from HSV in the previous summer transfer period for 500,000 euros, but has so far not played with the “Iron”. Even after his loan return, he had no perspective in coach Urs Fischer’s team. Lucoqui also says goodbye again just one year after his arrival at Mainz. The left-back made a free transfer to the 05ers last summer, where he was unable to establish himself and made 15 appearances (one goal).

While van Drongelen and Lucoqui are additions on defense, Lee is on offense. The South Korean international was last loaned out to Schalke by Ulsan Hyundai at the beginning of the year, where he only made one appearance. The Royal Blues announced that the contract, which was originally valid until the end of the year, has been terminated.
