Ice Hockey League’s Jukka Toivakka: speeding and a card on the shelf

The vice president of the ice hockey association was fined close to 4,000 euros for his act.

An entrepreneur and sports influencer from Mikkeli Jukka Toivakka60, was arrested in May for speeding in Mikkeli.

According to the punishment order confirmed by the prosecutor’s office, Toivakka drove on the police radar at 124 km/h in an area with an 80 km speed limit.

According to the description of the act, the driving conditions were “excellent” at the time of the incident.

– Straight road and dry road surface, daylight, alone in traffic and little traffic, the police list in the punishment order.

The speeding happened on May 23, at the beginning of the final week of the World Cup home games. Toivakka is the vice-president of the Ice Hockey Association.

The police patrol wrote a 22-day fine to Toivaka, who was guilty of endangering traffic safety.

At Toivaka’s income level, the price of one daily fine was 179 euros, so the amount to be paid totaled 3,938 euros. On top of the fine, a crime victim’s fee of 40 euros was added.

Toivakka does not want to comment on the matter further, but admits that he has lost his driving license for a limited time.

– Yes, I got a driving ban for that.

But it has suffered already?

Got mad at the parking attendant

Toivaka’s traffic behavior has been in the headlines before. In December 2018, Toivakka got upset with the parking supervisor, who had written him an error fee.

The incident was dealt with in the district court, which gave Toivaka a suspended sentence for, among other things, violently resisting an official. The verdict was changed by the court, which found Toivaka guilty of endangering traffic safety in the case.

Toivakka had to pay fines of 14,900 euros, but was relieved by his sentence.

– It has not been mentally easy to live with this, but we have pushed forward normally, Toivakka told Iltalehte in May 2020.
