transfer hammer? Eintracht Frankfurt is chasing hype strikers!

In the summer, Eintracht Frankfurt may face a major change in personnel. Especially in attack, the face of the SBU could soon look completely different. According to one report, a current hype striker could join the squad.

With high-flyers Randal Kolo Muani, Rafael Borré and Lucas Alario, Eintracht Frankfurt currently have three nines at international level. However, none of the attackers is certain that they will still play for the Hessians in 2023/2023.

While Kolo Muani is being hunted down by top clubs from all over Europe, Borré and Alario are dissatisfied with their manageable playing times and are flirting with saying goodbye to the reigning Europa League winners.

In return, a replacement would have to be found – and if you believe a report in the Italian newspaper “Corriere della Sera”, then a real cracker could fill the gap in Eintracht’s storm.

This refers to Mateo Retegui, who is currently causing a sensation in the Squadra Azzurra. The 23-year-old was unexpectedly called up for Italy’s senior team by Roberto Mancini, despite being Argentinian by birth and having never played football in Europe.

Retegui’s impressive answer to the general astonishment: two goals in his first two international matches in the shirt of the European champions. The hype surrounding the newcomer is correspondingly high.

Lots of competition for Eintracht Frankfurt

The 1.86m goalscorer had previously been linked here and there with a move to Europe, given his impressive record at Club Atlético Tigre in Argentina. In the 2022 calendar year season he netted 19 times in 27 games, in 2023 there are six goals in eight matches.

In addition to Eintracht, Inter Milan, Atlético Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen are also said to be vying for the services of the attacking player, who is currently on loan from Boca Juniors to Tigre with a purchase option.

Supposedly there was a meeting between decision-makers from Frankfurt and Retegui’s father during the week. The price tag for the shooting star is said to be around 15 million euros.
