Early on Saturday morning, a car crashed into a passing tram at the railway crossing on the Randweg in Uithoorn. Three people were injured. Both the tram and the car suffered significant damage.
The tram’s overhead wires were also damaged and fell on the vehicle. GVB previously informed NH that the repairs to the electricity cables above the railway crossing ‘could certainly last the entire weekend’.
Compliments to the ‘professionals’
The tram has now been repaired, and that has earned the transport company a lot of praise. People on social media send compliments: ‘Great work, so super fast’, and: ‘Great admiration for the professionals who completed this enormous job in such a short time.’
