Lennart Karl and Wisdom Mike are two of the greatest talents from the U17 of FC Bayern. Coach Patrick Kaniuth now raved about his protégés in the highest tones and compared the duo to Munich club legends.
Lennart Karl has been running in the FC Bayern jersey since 2022. In the current season, the offensive midfielder already scored 25 goals in 16 games for the U17. There are also ten assists.
“He has a high promotional density and wants to make a difference with every action. Lennart wants to decide games. He has a very good degree and generally a strong left foot,” enthused coach Patrick Kaniuth in an interview with “SPOX”.
The coach trusts the junior national player to make a breakthrough at FC Bayern, where he can already train with the professionals. “So far, he has always adapted to the next higher level,” said Kaniuth.
The U17 trainer already compared Karl to world stars. “Lennart himself defines Martin Ödegaard as his role model, so I actually see parallels,” says Kaniuth: “But he also has a bit of Arjen Robben and Michael Olise, who likes to move and complete.”
There have recently been there for Karl. According to “Sky” Real Madrid and Ajax Amsterdam, the sensors are expanding according to the jewel. At FC Bayern, Karl is still equipped with a youth player contract until 2026.
Kaniuth also raved about Wisdom Mike in the highest tones.
“Wisdom is a classic one-on-one player, a dribbler. He feels comfortable on the line, prefers to come across the outer lane. He is very explosive, can flank with both feet, has a very good nose for deep runs,” he outlined the strengths of the 16-year-old winger.
With Mike’s quick start and his dribbling, Kaniuth sees a parallel to Kingsley Coman.
Wisdom Mike in the professional squad of FC Bayern
Mike switched from Borussia Mönchengladbach to FC Bayern in 2022.
This season, the U17 international was already around Bundesliga squad from Vincent Kompany. For the U17 he netted 13 times in eleven games and prepared six more goals.
Most recently, “Sky” said that FC Bayern wants to extend Mike’s expiring contract.
