Alexander Zverev is apparently responding to his sporty and mental crisis with changes in his coaching team. The Nadal family is supposed to give the German tennis star new swing.
Alexander Zverev apparently wants to give his tennis career a new kick with the help of the Nadal family to achieve his long-awaited goal from a Grand Slam title.
As “Sky” commentator Paul Häuser writes on X, the German is to be trained by Toni Nadal in the future, the uncle of tennis icon Rafael Nadal. The 22-time Grand Slam champion could also take on a mentoring role for Zverev.
The management of Zverev has not yet been asked by RTL/NTV and sport.de reacts to the report.
According to “Sky”, the world ranking in third in the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca with Toni Nadal is currently training. The Pay TV station posted corresponding video recordings on Instagram.
Rafael Nadal ended his unique career at the end of 2024. He won 22 Grand Slam tournaments, he triumphed 14 times at the French Open in Paris. The left -hander is considered the best clay player in history – and thus as an expert for the topping, where Zverev also calculates the greatest chances of his hoped -for first major title.
Tennis: Boris Becker always rieted Zverev into new trainers
So far, Zverev was mostly trained by his father Alexander Zverev Senior, Bruder Mischa is also close to his side as a manager and consultant.
Most recently, Boris Becker had spoken out for changes in Zverev’s team. “The father and the brother did it excellently, but it wasn’t good enough for the last step,” criticized the German tennis legend: “You have the impression that he plays against the top players in the same sewage and hopes that the result will be good.”

Between Zverev and the 57-year-old, it last crunched due to Becker’s public criticism. “I think if I go well with me, I always do everything right. And if things go badly, everyone is always very, very smart. Unfortunately, Boris is part of it,” said the 28-year-old.
In the past, Zverev had already worked with coaches outside of his family: Juan Carlos Ferrero, Ivan Lendl, David Ferrer and most recently Sergi Bruguera. “But they all left the boat after half a year. And that has had its reasons,” Becker noted critically in the podcast “Becker Petkovic”.
