Trainer Anthony Correia retires after four seasons at Katwijk

Trainer Anthony Correia hopes to work full time as a trainer in professional football next season. That is why he quits after four seasons with second division team Katwijk.

The 41-year-old resident of Velserbroek came to Katwijk in 2020. With that club he became champion of the second division in the past two years. Katwijk is currently in fourth place in the competition.

Correia combines being head coach at Katwijk with the position of assistant coach at Telstar. The club where he played no fewer than fifteen seasons. In 2016 he stopped playing football and focused on being a trainer.

“As a club, we fully understand Anthony’s ambitions and decision. Even though we would have loved to renew with him again. We respect his decision and hope that his wonderfully successful period at the club will also end ‘in style’ this season,” Katwijk technical director Cees Bruinink said.
