Viaduct Triangel over the A4 near Dinteloord will be closed in both directions until Friday evening, October 24, due to maintenance work. The closure took effect at 7 a.m. Monday morning.
The road surface of the viaduct will be renewed and so-called bump plates will be replaced. A bumper plate is a sturdy plate at the beginning or end of a bridge or viaduct, where the road surface connects to the bridge structure. Such a plate ensures that the transition between the road and the bridge remains flat and sturdy.
To replace such an impact plate, it is necessary to remove and reapply the asphalt layer over the entire width of the road.
Diversion routes and public transport
Due to this work, cars and buses will be diverted on the A4 via the Dinteloord junction and the Steenbergen junction. Cyclists are diverted via the Zuidzeedijk, the Bovensasweg and the Kruislandsedijk.
Agricultural traffic is diverted via Kruisland. Road users must take diversion routes into account and an additional travel time of up to ten minutes.
Weather-sensitive work
Maintenance work is weather sensitive. In bad weather, work may not take place and will be rescheduled.
