The German trade union Verdi has called on security guards at the airports of Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover and Bremen to go on strike on Monday. The security guards would not be paid enough for the work, which often takes place at irregular hours. According to Verdi, the allowances for this irregularity have not been increased since 2006.
